Excerpt from first Sunday in the field.

so where to begin. man the work is amazing. i wish i could come home and report everyday about the miracles we witness and the blessings we see. A servant of God is the best life, it is the good life. :) we are over two wards, saffford 7th and 8th. both are awesome but im kinda partial to 7th ward. dont tell anyone though. :) 8th is at 9:00 and 7th is at one1:00 and honestly when we were done with church it only felt like we were their for three hours if that. i bore my testimony in 8th as the spirit directed. it was soo cool. i just walked up their opened my mouth and the thoughts were continuous until i said amen. :) then we were asked to help with deacons quorum. the spirit has been speaking to me and prompting me in some interesting ways, never felt before. so while i sat in deacons quorum all of the kids were kinda causing a hullabuloo and i sat their waiting for our cue and then the spirit started to pound harder and harder. i was on the edge of my seat with ideas flowing, but still just waiting. well finally he said alright so we have the missionaries here today and i stood up and started with abinadi in mosiah 13:2-3 and read it to the kids. i told them that the men could not touch him because he had not finished the message which the lord had sent him to deliver. i told them that that promise has been sent to each of you as well. as you serve the lord on your missions faithfully you will be protected for those two years the time the lord has appointed you to deliver your message. then i turned over to mosiah 27: to tell them about alma and the sons of mosiah i had someone read verse 29 and told them that alma and the sons of mosiah were in the gall of bitterness and the bonds of iniquity, they were little rascals like you guys but did worse things against God. but then in verse 30 God delivered them and he was a new creature. then i turned to alma 17 verses 2-3 and asked them after they read it what they needed to do to be good missionaries, to be as good of missionaries as these changed men. we came up with fasting, prayer, searching the scriptures diligently (verse 13) seperating ourselves from the world and thinking in a higher plane of thought and activity, and keeping an eye single to the glory of God (still my brethren in the lord verse 2). then i told them as before you have a message to deliver to the world. you will be missionaries one day. you have six years to read the book of mormon. six years to build a sealed tight, unbroken chain between you and God, six years to become men of God. then if you serve faithfully ( then i read them alma 25:17) each of you will see success and "rejoice exceedingly with your brethren" because the "lord granted unto them according to their prayers", He will answer your prayers for investigators, yourselves and life and better yet, "He will also verify His word in every particular unto you." then we both closed with our testimonies of the things we know and time was up PERFECTLY all because the lord knew what these kids needed and we were able to be conduits of that. We truly witnessed a miracle. we were given by the lord of his mercies and for that i thank him and glorify him in all my days.
