Excerpt from Elder Grants e-mail 27 August 2012 Pima, AZ

We had a lesson with a former investigator yesterday, Bryan. It was a return appointment and our plan was to teach the restoration focusing on why a restoration was needed. Even though we had the facts as we pulled out Bible verses, I just felt a pull and knew we weren’t supposed to be doing that, so I stopped, put the Bible down and said, " Ultimately it comes down to this.  I know that the priesthood was lost after the death of Christ and that it wasn’t brought back until Joseph Smith." I continued to bear my testimony and then I re-told him the account of Joseph Smith’s vision telling him to focus on his feelings. After I quoted it, the spirit was brewing with fire in my heart. I felt like a true representative of Jesus Christ. We paused for what seemed like forever with all eyes on Bryan and then he said, "So why do you believe him?" It was over. The spirit spoke directly through me for what seemed like the bearing of my whole soul to his mind and heart. I was overcome by the Spirit and Elder Call and Brother Davis, our EQ President, knew the spirit was in the room, but still nothing from Bryan. We did all we could and invited him to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. We dropped him. But I was an advocate of the truth, and I truly felt like a servant of Christ. It was awesome!
