Weekly Report
Another AMAZING week. J Elder loveless and I have grown closer and the work has progressed. J I wish, as always, that I could give you a video of the last ump-ting hours, as everyday is a miracle and a lesson to learn that stretches me and gives me growth. I have learned these last few weeks that life is truly about making lemonade when I am given lemons. I do not always reach my goals, I do not always say the right thing, or execute perfectly but, "Men are that they might have JOY,” not sorrow. I am commanded to be perfect as Christ, in trying my best every day. If I come up short I have realized, IT IS OKAY. J What changes the soul of a man is his capacity to make the most out of every situation he is placed into, to look at the positive of every situation, for the glass is half full to man who reaches for the stars. OH what mercy, wisdom and love of God. What a wonderful plan, The Plan of Salvation. Truly! Our Salvation! The plan, Blue print, Outline, set in place just for you and me to have Joy, to reach our potential and have everything God does. The essence of my learning these last few weeks is best explained through a message I read in the Ensign, "The Gospel Culture" by Dallin H. Oaks. In the movie 'the African Queen' two refugees, much like two missionaries, are wondering in the wilderness trying to get to safety to Lake Victoria. The Ensign says, "Unable to tell which way the current is flowing and surrounded by high growth, the two refugees become disoriented and discouraged. At the end of their energy and faith, they are about to give up and die. Then, in a moment of high drama, the camera, through which we are viewing their peril rises, and with new perspective we see their true location. Out of sight to them, but just a few meters away are the long sought liberating waters of Lake Victoria. The Gospel of Jesus Christ explains our journey in mortality and shows us our destination in eternity. Like the refugees on the African Queen, we are fleeing evil and disaster. There are obstacles all around us. We labor hard to reach our goals, sometimes we see no signs of progress. We can become exhausted and discouraged. We may even lose sight of our destination, but we must NOT GIVE UP! If we could only see above our current circumstances and know our true location on the journey to eternal life, we would realize what great progress we are making." This is my joy. This is my awakening over the last few weeks. It is okay that I do not move as fast as I want to, as long as I am moving forward. J It is never about me but, how to lift other’s higher. If God moved at His full speed we would be hopeless. We could never become like Him. In much the same way, life is about others, so we ALL can make it back into the presence of God and obtain Eternal Life. Oh, the wisdom of God. His mercy and love for each of His beloved children. As much as it can boggle my mind, I must never forget, " The worth of [Every soul] is great in the sight of God." Time is only measured by man and this life is short. It is not about changing our lemons to oranges but rather making lemonade out of the lemons we are given. J I love my Heavenly Father with every thing I have. My life is His. J
And as always the Sabbath day was amazing. I live for Sunday. J We had the privilege of teaching primary. Two things I love about children, that is on my mind, is one when they sing primary songs, oh how it fills my breast with the joy of heaven, and second when I walk out of church and see and hear, "Elder Grant" coming from the mouths of the little ones as they embrace me with their love. J I love the Gospel.
